At the LeBauer Allergy and Asthma booth, staff members will provide handouts and answer questions you may have about issues such as how to deal with pollen and food allergies. Need help dealing with exercise and asthma, or exercise and pollen? Staff can talk to you about those issues as well as dealing with exercise-induced asthma and triggers. (See this pamphlet for great tips!)
Want to know more about running injuries? Stop by the Cone Health booth. Dr. Thomas Thekkekandam, family and sports medicine physician from Cone Health MedCenter Kernersville, will be onsite to answer questions about sports injuries and offer advice about stretching techniques. He has served as team physician for area high schools, as well as North Carolina A&T State University, with interests in nonsurgical pediatric orthopedics, gait analysis, and concussion management.
While in the GO FARther area, don’t forget to stop by the Piedmont Parent magazine booth to sign up for the Fit Family Challenge. This motivating program will help you and your family get moving and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. The GO FAR 5K and Fun Run is a great way to start!
