Throwback Thursday: Even our logo guy got fit

As an organization, as a curriculum-based program, and as a nationally recognized response to childhood obesity, GO FAR has come a long way in its first ten years. And its Runner Guy logo is keeping pace with those changes.

The original guy was created by Wendy Williams Buendel, then a student at High Point University. She created a couple versions before GO Far settled on the one you see here, in a 2004 finishers medal:

Over the years, we made slight modifications to the little guy, including shortening his legs a bit (didn't want him tripping over himself). Then in 2010, as part of the redesign of the GO FAR website, artist Craig Lyndon at Pixels in Greensboro gave our guy some nips and tucks to make him look more like the seasoned runner he had become -- a slight forward lean, a, um, tightening of his posterior. How did we do?
