     2003-2013: 10 years of
    inspiring kids and communities,
    one run at a time

GO FAR is an 8- or 10-week fitness program for school children, designed to reduce childhood obesity by teaching healthy eating habits, goal setting, and how to train for a 5K. A user-friendly curriculum helps coaches — teachers, parents, volunteers — offer the program to children of all abilities, most typically as an afterschool club.

Are you a parent, teacher, or administrator concerned about our children's wellbeing? Welcome! We invite you to consider volunteering as a GO FAR coach and encouraging your school or afterschool program to sign up. We also gladly embrace sponsors, event volunteers, and donors to sustain our nonprofit organization.

We make running cool. And fun.

The GO FAR training program culminates with a fun, festive GO FAR 5K family walk/run.

Most events also offer a one-mile fun walk/run. Students, families and teachers get to mingle and cheer on their peers, then enjoy music, local vendors, and post-race refreshments. Don't forget to stop by the GO FAR table to shop for our latest gear.
