GO FAR Team Wins National Character Education Award

The Character Education Partnership recognized the team for innovative best practices in character education and awarded the group the 2013 Promising Practice Award at an annual forum in Washington, DC.
The team fosters a unique relationship between kindergarten through second-grade students and its eighth-grade junior coaches. Through their leadership roles, the junior coaches introduce and share character traits with the students and help them apply those traits to their lives.
The Character Education Partnership is a national organization and leader for the character education movement in schools and communities. It annually recognizes educators who have implemented effective character education strategies. Johnson Street was one of five Guilford County Schools to receive the award.
