GO FAR (Go Out For A Run) is a youth health and fitness nonprofit that uses running and movement as the starting point for something bigger: building lifelong healthy habits that ripple out from kids to their families and communities. Founded in 2003, we now serve 69 sites across five counties in the Piedmont Triad.
-
We're not just about the run. Through our four pillars — Lace Up, Fuel Up, Gear Up, and our Holistic Health Learning Lab — we address movement, nutrition, mental wellness, and access, so kids build habits that support their whole health, not just their mile time.
-
Our curriculum is designed to reach youth in grades K–8th. Each club coach determines which grade levels their club includes, a decision that's most often shaped by how many adult volunteers are available to help run the club.
-
We partner with schools, community centers, and youth organizations across Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance, Randolph, and Davidson counties to bring GO FAR programming on-site. Reach out through our website and our team will walk you through what a partnership looks like for your site.
-
There are lots of ways to get involved — from coaching and race-day volunteering to sponsoring a site or attending one of our community 5Ks. We especially love partnering with companies looking for group volunteer opportunities, particularly on race day — it's a great way for teams to give back together. Every bit of support helps us reach more kids and families across the Triad.

GO FAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we rely on donations, grants, sponsorships, and event proceeds (like our community 5K series) to keep programming free or low-cost for the kids and families who need it most. Gifts of any size directly fund our sites across the five counties we serve.
