Start A Club

Start your own GO FAR program and become a GO FAR coordinator. It’s easy... here’s how:  

1. Begin by completing the GO FAR New Site Application.

2. Sign the GO FAR Licensing Agreement. The cost of your license for the first year or portion of a year is included in the curriculum fee. Licenses are renewed annually in January and must be maintained as long as you offer the program.

3. Send your completed New Site Application and signed License Agreement to GO FAR:

4. Purchase the GO FAR Curriculum. GO FAR is a 10-week (20-session) curriculum. A CD ROM with supplemental information is included.
   

   

5. Attend the GO FAR Training, by site visit or webinar. Every site must have a certified GO FAR Coordinator and enough coaches to meet the coach to child ratio of 1:15.

Then you are ready to GO FAR!

NOTE: 
There is a $15-25 GO FAR GEAR cost per participant.  Gear includes an awesome GO FAR t-shirt and custom GO FAR finisher medal for the culminating race/event. 

Why we need GO FAR 

• Studies estimate the cost of our nation's obesity epidemic at more than $117 billion annually
• The national cost of childhood obesity stands at about 
$14 million per year
• 40% of obese children and 70% of obese adolescents become obese adults
• Obesity-related diseases and complications — heart disease, kidney failure, Type 2 diabetes, cancer — may shorten our children’s lives by as much as 5 years
