Walski familyDrumroll please....We're excited to announce the winner of our first drawing for a free GO FAR curriculum (or 10 student racekits). We're thrilled for the winner, but the stories from quite a few of the first 25 entrants are so heartfelt that we're talking about ways to help more of you! Of course, we have NINE more drawings to celebrate GO FAR's 10th anniversary, so stay tuned — the next invite goes out this afternoon.

And our winner: Jamie Walski (at left, with her three kids) lives in Chesapeake, VA, in a somewhat economically depressed neighborhood (70% of students are on the free lunch program). She is the PTA president of the primary school, where 2 of her kids are in school, and has 1 child in the intermediate school. Her PTA is trying to encourage more healthy programs into the schools, especially ones that involve parents.

"A running club would be perfect!" Jamie tells us. "A teacher at the intermediate school has taken on a running club with her classes, almost all the students enthusiastically participate. It would be great to grow a program for either of these schools, and it would be helpful to have your guidance! I am a runner and my family, friends, and I often come down to the Outer Banks to participate in your races. I would love to bring something like that to our community and I think it would be welcomed!" Congrats, Jamie, and thanks for such dedicated interest in your borough's schools!
