Use Plyometrics for Indoor Exercise When the Weather Won't Cooperate

When the weather keeps you and your family indoors, plyometrics will help you stay active and provide a good workout. This jump training helps strengthen muscles, increase vertical jumps, and decrease the impact on joints, according to the American Council on Exercise.
For a workout, try explosive moves like squatting and then jumping up from a squat, or jumping with both feet onto a box or stair. Jump in place, bringing your knees into your chest. Do 10–15 of each exercise and repeat the cycle three times. Rest for 30 seconds between exercises. A 20-minute workout like this will help your running when you get back outside.
