GO FAR has hired Sarah Beth Davis as its executive director. Davis replaces Julie Hill, who left in September to teach at High Point University.

Davis comes to GO FAR with experience in nonprofits, marketing and project management. In her most recent role, Davis was account coordinator at Creative Services in High Point where her duties focused on project management for the marketing, public relations and graphic design agency.Davis_GO_FAR

Davis serves on the board of the Hartley Drive Family YMCA in High Point as well as volunteer committees with the High Point Community Foundation and Emerywood Baptist Church.

GO FAR’s mission is to teach kids about healthy living and train them to run a mile or 5K. Davis begins her new role in time for the fall Triad GO FAR 5K and Fun Run on Nov. 5 in downtown High Point.

A longtime runner, Davis knows the benefits of the sport. “I love the flexibility that running allows because it requires very little equipment and we can run almost anywhere,” Davis said. “Although it may be considered an individual sport, there is an incredible sense of community among runners and I love the diversity of the athletes I run alongside during races.”

Davis envisions GO FAR continuing to reach more children and families in North Carolina and nationwide. “I see such tremendous value in the ripple effect that GO FAR has on parents, families and entire communities when everyone gets involved,” she said. “I see GO FAR continuing to provide a creative approach to teaching children healthy habits through running. We also will connect more community partners to our mission as we help them understand the important role they play in helping children sustain these healthy choices for a lifetime.”

GO FAR Founder Robin Lindsay said, “We are so thrilled to have Sarah Beth Davis as our new executive director. Her love for children, running and our community makes her a perfect fit. Her vision will help our organization grow and introduce more children to healthy living.”
