Chris is not your typical blend-in- to- the bunch - runner. Not only does Chris run with his toes and feet naked, but he also has a hidden crazy side (as if running barefooted isn't crazy). Don't let his quiet demeanor fool you... he is quick witted and will have you belly laughing out loud in no time.
Recently, Chris won the lottery and will run the ING NYC Marathon November 2012. Not only is he running NYC Marathon, but Chris is raising money for GO FAR (Go Out For A Run) GO FAR is trying to help new "little" runners find the running passion (like Chris has found) So many of our little GO FAR runners don't have the essentials like a decent pair of running shoes. Chris said, "Ironic that I'm running without shoes in hopes that GO FAR kids will be able to run with them."
Chris has another goal: He wants to complete a marathon in every state where he has lived.
Why GO FAR? Chris says he chose GO FAR "because I've seen how kids react when crossing the finish line at GO FAR races. I've heard the kids talk about how awesome it was to train, how much they learned, and how they can't wait to do it again. Above all, GO FAR cares about the kids that go through their program, and I'd love to keep that program going.
